Hearing Loops - assistive hearing systems
Fixed hearing loops (transmitters) are installed in many lecture theatres and other venues on Australian campuses as listed below. There are signs at these theatres indicating the presence of a fixed hearing loop and what channel is used to transmit the signal. Most personal hearing aides are equipped to receive FM signals from these transmitters.
In addition to these fixed loops there is a roving transmitter which can be booked, and also a number of small portable hearing loop systems (including portable transmitters, receivers, headsets etc.) which are available on loan from the Disability Liaison Unit.
