Student Contribution Amounts 2008
For Commonwealth supported students, units are grouped into four broad bands. The band in which the unit is located determines the student contribution amount (SCA) for that unit. Usually, the units a student is required to enrol in to complete their course will each fall into the same band.
The following table outlines the annual student contribution amount for a full time student who is enrolled in a standard full-time course where all units are in the same band. Students typically undertake 8 units each year. Units are normally 6 credit points each. In a standard full-time year, students will study 48 credit points.
Students who were undertaking study prior to 2005 under the HECS arrangements will be able to continue study under those HECS student contribution regimes until the end of 2008, unless they discontinue their enrolment without formally deferring or complete their course of study.
