Fees for students at a "host" location

Students can spend part of their course in an overseas or 'host' location and this may affect the fees applicable to the course of study.

Permanent Transfer To Another Overseas Location To Take A New Course

A student who permanently transfers to an overseas campus to undertake a new course is treated as a commencing student. The commencing year's fees and charges at the new campus will apply.

Monash Abroad Scheme (Exchange, Intercampus Exchange, International Study Programs, Internship, Clinical and Field Placement)

Generally course fees and fee payment arrangements remain at the home campus. See Monash Abroad for more information

Monash Abroad Fee Paying Study Programs

Where students are required to pay tuition fees to an overseas institution or program they may not be required to pay fees to Monash University. See Monash Abroad for more information.

Temporary Transfer Between Overseas Campuses of Monash (Not Linked to Monash Abroad Scheme)

  • A fee-paying student who transfers to another Monash campus will pay the fees related to the new campus
  • Provided the course is the same, the fee charged will normally be equivalent to the rate in effect when the student commenced the course if the transfer happens within three years of the original start date of the course
  • A Commonwealth supported place (CSP) student who transfers to another Monash campus in the same course, will remain as a CSP student and have to pay the Student Contribution Amount (SCA).

Cross-Institutional Students

Where Monash University is the "host" University, the student is obliged to pay any course fees / Student Contribution Amount to Monash University. Students are not liable for Amenities fees at Monash University.
