Only about half our undergraduate students are recent school leavers. Others apply to study through alternative pathways. We offer several programs that offer extra help and assistance so you get your degree.
So if you have the drive and desire, we may be able to help. Just like we helped Lauren, who took advantage of our Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS) to get into the course of her dreams.
“When I received my Year 12 results, unfortunately I was a few points shy of the cut-off for nursing. Thankfully, DoTS offered me another way and has allowed me to achieve my dream of becoming a nurse.”
Lauren, Bachelor of Nursing Practice graduate
“The course provides a fantastic balance of theory and practice. This is my third year of study, but I think I’ve spent more time on placement in local schools than I have in lecture theatres on campus!”
Sharna, Bachelor of Education
“At Gippsland, you get the best of both worlds – all the benefits of a big university, but with the local links and opportunities of a smaller campus. For me, this has included spending a semester at Monash’s Prato campus in Italy, and taking part in the Industry Placement Program, which ultimately led to a full-time job as a graphic designer after I graduated.”
Kobie, Bachelor of Visual and Media Arts
“There’s a real sense of community here. My lecturers are always available when I want to discuss assignments, and I’ve made heaps of new friends because the atmosphere just encourages you to get out there and get to know people.”
Chris, Bachelor of Arts (Journalism)
“At first, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to meet the demands of the course, but the support and guidance at Monash has been great. I feel like I’m surrounded by friends and peers, who just happen to be inspiring teachers, students and professionals as well.”
Cameron, Bachelor of Nursing
