Orient yourself to assessment

There's no way around it – being at university means doing assessment tasks. You will find the following resources useful in orienting yourself to assessment:

Rough guides to useful faculty resources

You may notice that each discipline has its own requirements in regard to referencing, developing arguments, presenting assignments, and so on. The conventions and expectations change from one subject area to another, just like cultures and customs change from one country to the next. Being aware of these differences can improve your confidence in adapting to diverse disciplinary cultures.

The HandyRefs tab on this site has a collection of rough guides to introduce you to some of the basic requirements in:

  • Education
  • Science
  • IT
  • Nursing
  • Psychology
  • History
  • Art & Design
  • BusEco

Library Research guides are also available for each faculty area.
