Monash Art Ensemble (MAE) is situated in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance (SZCSoMP) at Monash University, and has enjoyed philanthropic support from The Vizard (2012-2017), Salzer (2016-) and Minsmere (2023-) Foundations. The MAE commissions, performs and records new, mainly Australian, work for a mixed ensemble ranging in size from around ten to twenty players.

In a powerful meeting of kindred forces, the Monash Art Ensemble (MAE) reunites with members of the Australian Art Orchestra (AAO) for an electrifying performance of To Kill A Magic We Got Used To by AAO Artistic Director Aaron Choulai and rapper Roman MC.

A Pinky Promise (2022)

Written by Cheryl Durongpisitskul, A Pinky Promise was created in response to her personal experiences as a woman-of-colour in the jazz community and years of watching others experiencing prejudice due to their gender. ‘A Pinky Promise’, is a commitment to continually push for change within our communities.
