Monash University researchers have snared the largest slice of funding of any Australian research institution in this year's National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Program Grants.

Monash has signed an agreement formalising its cooperation with the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and the Victorian Department of Education and Training to further the teaching of Indonesian language and culture in rural Victoria.

Six Monash students will be part of Australia's team at the Olympic Games in Athens in August. The students are Lauren Hewitt (athletics), Patrick Murphy (swimming), Travis Brooks (hockey), David Zalcberg (table tennis), Daniel Trenton (taekwondo) and Andrew Collett (judo).
