Family History Weekend, 16-17 April

The School of Historical Studies is holding a Family History Weekend.

When: Saturday 16 April to Sunday 17 April
Where: The Institute for Post-Colonial Studies, North Melbourne

There will be a range of speakers exploring various aspects of family history writing and research, including Aboriginal family history, Yiddish families in Melbourne , and women's experience of grief and mourning after World War I.

Other topics include deserted wives in colonial Victoria , the trauma of the lost child, the experience of life in a Catholic orphanage and Irish-Australian family history.
