Experts' insight into supply and demand
Two leading Australian supply chain experts will be the keynote industry speakers at the 10th Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) Operations, Supply Chain and Services Management Symposium.
Michael Filazzola, Executive Director Global Purchasing & Supply Chain at General Motors Holden and Matt Swindells, the General Manager Supply Chain Transformation at Coles will present the opening addresses at the symposium tomorrow.
ANZAM is the primary professional body for management educators, researchers and practitioners in Australia and New Zealand as well as members from other countries.
Monash University’s Professor Amrik Sohal from the Department of Management said the Symposium provided the forum for academics and practitioners to share their research, knowledge and practical experiences in the operations, supply chain and services management areas.
“In the current economic climate, where businesses face many challenges, like increased costs to produce goods and deliver them to market, it is important that we are able to hear from experts to understand the issues faced by two of Australia’s largest companies,” Professor Sohal said.
“We are at a stage where it is necessary for researchers and industry experts to address these evolving challenges facing the industry in a more collaborative manner.”
This year’s symposium is hosted by Monash University’s Department of Management and the University of Melbourne’s Department of Management and Marketing.
Matt Swindells and Michael Filazzola will deliver their keynote addresses from 9am on Thursday 14 June at the Monash University Law Chambers, 555 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. The 10th ANZAM Operations, Supply Chain and Services Symposium will be held on 14-15 June.
