For aspiring higher education students wanting to explore career choices, seek advice or see inside Australia’s largest university, August 4-5 can only mean one thing - Monash Open Day 2012.

Whether in Years 10-12 or even a mature age student, Open Day at Monash is a fun way to get a taste of university life, obtain face-to-face advice from staff or current students and narrow down career options.

More than 100 student ambassadors, wearing unmistakable blue uniforms, will be located across the University’s six Victorian campuses (Gippsland, Peninsula, Berwick, Parkville, Caulfield, Clayton), helping perspective students and their families make the most out of the 600 activities on offer at Monash Open Day.

Monash student ambassadors Evie Kendal and Ehsan Islami will make their way around campus grounds answering questions, showing people around and offering unique insight into what life at Monash is like from a student’s perspective.

A second-year ambassador completing a Master of Bioethics, Evie said it was from her own experience at Monash that she was able to help others on Open Day.

“Being a student ambassador is an important role and I look forward to helping others consider their career options while offering some insight into life at Monash,” Evie said.

“It’s also important to point out that there’s some interesting clubs to join, such as debating and sports clubs, friendships to be made and fun to be had.”

A relatively new student in his first year studying a Bachelor of Business and Commerce and Bachelor of Professional Communication at Berwick campus, Ehsan believes in helping prospective students discover their career options and consider university.

“I became an ambassador to help others and increase my involvement in University activities outside of my studies. On Open Day I will answer questions about study options, support services and university life in general,” Ehsan said.
