Technical detailsArchitectureThe portal employs a variety of open source and proprietary technologies - including a web farmed Apache configuration, Perl, HTML::Mason and an Oracle database backend - to provide personalised information and services, and to integrate with other core university applications. PersonalisationEach user's my.monash portal is personalised according to attributes from the Monash directory (LDAP) against which we authenticate using a login. Interface designTabs: the portal uses a tab based system of navigation. Tabs contain a collection of resources about a particular topic. Components: Within each tab are one or more components - these are the building blocks of the portal. They can contain a summary of information from a dynamic source, a static link to an online resource, or a discussion group. Components are recognisable as a group of links and/or functions under a page sub-heading. More infoAnyone after further information should contact the my.monash team via the ITS Service Desk |
