Falk Schreiber is a Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. He was awarded a PhD and a habilitation in Computer Science from the University of Passau (Germany). In 2001-2002 he worked as a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Sydney. Since 2003, he has been head of a bioinformatics research group at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research Gatersleben, Germany. In 2007 he was appointed professor of Bioinformatics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany) and additionally Bioinformatics coordinator at the IPK Gatersleben.
Falk Schreiber has been researching topics in bioinformatics and computational systems biology more than 15 years. His main interests are visual computing and visual analytics of biological data, analysis of structure and dynamics of biological networks, integration of multimodal data, graphical standards for systems biology, as well as modelling and analysis of metabolism.
