Biography

Dr Chen received a PhD degree from the Centre for Health Economics, Monash Business School (2009-13), Monash University. He also hold a Master of Management Science degree from the School of Public Policy and Administration (2004-07) and a Bachelor of Medicine degree from the School of Medicine (1999-2004), Xi'an Jiaotong University in China.

 

Dr Chen has published over 40 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, including some of the leading journals such as Health Economics, PharmacoEconomics, Medical Decision Making, Social Science & Medicine, Health Policy and Planning, Quality of Life Research, British Journal of Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Accident Analysis and Prevention, British Journal of Cancer. He has been awarded 4 competitive grants (including 2 NHMRC project grants and 2 China Medical Board (CMB) Open Competition grants) as a Chief Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator in the past 2 years.

 

Prior to his current position, Dr Chen was a Research Fellow (in Health Economics) at Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer (FCIC) and Flinders Health Economics Group (FHEG), School of Medicine, Flinders University (2012-16), and the China Center for Health Economic Research (CCHER), Peking University (2007-09). He has been awarded full academic status as a Senior Lecturer at School of Medicine, Flinders University.
