Biography

Tom is a lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. Beginning with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and Archaeology, Tom later worked in New York and London for 7 years in the Interactive Design industry before returning to academia at Monash. Tom's main research interest is the digital visualisation of the medieval Cambodian city of Angkor, which was also the focus of his PhD thesis. 3D animated historical reconstructions of Angkor have since featured in several documentaries and have been published on National Geographic online, the Google Cultural Institute and in a curated exhibition at the National Museum of Cambodia.
