PhD

Supervision of higher degree research students is an important part of the Centre’s overall research mission. PhD students supervised by Centre academic staff are formally enrolled through the Faculty of Business and Economics. General information about the Doctor of Philosophy degree in that Faculty can be found at http://www.monash.edu.au/study/coursefinder/course/0029/

To enquire about supervision, prospective students should contact directly the member(s) of academic staff whose research interests are most closely aligned with the project that they wish to undertake. The research interests of academic staff affiliated with the Centre can be found in their biographies on this website. In general, the Centre undertakes research into innovation, commercialisation, scientific entrepreneurship, intellectual property, and related areas.

The rapidly changing nature of the Centre’s areas of focus puts an emphasis on the speed with which research is completed, as well as on its quality. PhD students are therefore strongly encouraged to study full-time, although part-time study is offered. Depending on course enrolments and the availability of funding, some part-time employment may be available for PhD students to act as tutors or research assistants.
