Bruker IFS 120 HR instrument

Bruker IFS 120 HR instrument coupled to a Enclosive Flow Cooling (EFC) cell

The high resolution spectroscopy laboratory features a Bruker IFS 120 HR Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometer with a maximum resolution of 0.0019 cm-1. Selectable intervals range from far-IR to the near-IR. We have beamsplitters (Far-IR mylar series,  KBr and Quartz), with appropriate source options. Sampling options include a variable path gascell (4 – 22 m) customized for flow through, and external emission input port.

Detector choices include:

  • 2 liquid helium cooled bolometers (770 – 330 cm-1; 650 – 25 cm-1)
  • Broadband MCT or Combined narrowband MCT/InSb (1800 - 650 cm-1;6000 - 1800 cm-1)
  • Si diode detector for NIR-Vis to range
  • DTGS detector principally for low resoution survey of FarIR to 50cm-1
