Research Areas
Organic synthesis and functional supramolecular materials

  • Dynamic combinatorial chemistry as a tool for the discovery of new chiral catalysts.
  • New Cyclodextrin derivatives for drug delivery and as functional nanomaterials.

Biological and medicinal chemistry

  • Dynamic combinatorial chemistry as a tool for screening peptide based therapeutics.
  • Oligonucleotide based drugs for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.
  • Carbohydrate-based drug discovery.
  • Glycopeptide-based vaccines for neglected tropical diseases.

I am a new academic researcher within the School of Chemistry at Monash University. My research programs are multidisciplinary in nature and will aim to provide chemical solutions to biological problems at the fundamental and applied level. Our group collaborates with a wide range of prominent researchers in the Chemical and Biological disciplines, including Assoc. Prof. Martin Stone (Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash Univ.), Prof. Paul Gorry (Burnet Institute), Prof. Paul Young (School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, University of Queensland), and Assoc. Prof. Richard Payne (School of Chemistry, The University of Sydney).
Research Outcomes

  • Continuous research funding from the ARC (Discovery early career research award).
  • Over 25 refereed publications, book chapters and patents
