The School of Geosciences maintains active collaborations with a wide range of outside departments and institutions. As well as joint research efforts between individuals both nationally and internationally, the School has formal links to a number of collaborative groups, institutions and commerical bodies. See below for some of these important links.

Victorian Institute of Earth and Planetary Sciences (VIEPS)
Victorian Institute of Earth and Planetary Sciences (VIEPS)
Monash University School of Geosciences, along with the School of Earth Sciences of the University of Melbourne, is a member of VIEPS. VIEPS delivers collaborative coursework and research facilities to members. Further information.
Cooperative Research Centre for Predictive Mineral Discovery (pmd*CRC)
Cooperative Research Centre for Predictive Mineral Discovery (pmd*CRC)
The predictive mineral discovery CRC aims to generate a fundamental shift in exploration practice and cost-effectiveness by improving understanding of mineralising processes and the evolution of mineralised terranes. The School of Geosciences is a major partner in the pmd*CRC. Further information.

CSIRO - Exploration and Mining Division (CSIRO-E&M)
CSIRO Exploration and Mining works to ensure the continuing prosperity of the Australian resource industry through a powerful partnership of science and technology, innovation and application. Two staff members of CSIRO-E&M (Dr Chris Ryan and Dr Weihua Liu) are hosted within the School of Geosciences to encourage and maintain a close collaborative relationship. Further information.
Minerals Council of Australia (MCA)
Minerals Council of Australia (MCA)
The School of Geosciences is a member of the National Geoscience Teaching Network (NGTN) which is funded by the MCA—the peak representative body for the Australian minerals industry. The School delivers a number of industry-relevant courses, primarily in Geophysics. Further information.
Australian Computational Earth Systems Simulator (ACcESS)
Australian Computational Earth Systems Simulator (ACcESS)
ACcESS is one of fifteen new national research facilities established under the Australian Government's Major National Research Facilities program. ACcESS is developing the integrated software and parallel supercomputer hardware required to simulate the dynamics of the entire earth, and will integrate geological and tectonic models developed in the Australian Crustal Research Centre.
