Australian Crustal Research Centre

The ACRC, directed by Professor Ray Cas, is the the co-ordinating body within the School of Geosciences for research in crustal and lithospheric evolution.  The existing strengths in structural geology and tectonics, structural geophysics and digital geology are greatly enhanced by the integration of geochemistry and geochronology, magmatic studies, metallogenic studies, palaeontology and numerical modelling.  Primary field based observations remain the foundation of our science and are now complimented with cutting edge geochemical and geophysical analyses as well as Earth process simulation through analogue and numerical modelling.

Four encompassing research programs have been established within the ACRC - Tectonics and Regional Geophysics; Geodynamic Modeling and Simulation; Volcanic, Magmatic and Geochemical Processes; and Ore Deposit Geoscience.”
