Vortices are usually created when bodies are dragged through a gas or a fluid. The fate of such vortices is a matter of hydrodynamics. In this talk, I will revisit one of the classical hydrodynamic instability mechanisms in the context of a superfluid Bose-Einstein condensate pierced by a pair of quantized vortices.
