There are many simple but intriguing questions about swimming. Why do most fish swim at nearly the same speed. Why does the frequency of their typical oscillating motion of fish scale as the inverse cube root of their mass. Is it possible to swim with zero viscosity, and if so how? Is it better to swim near the surface or deep down. In this talk I will answer these and other questions and describe a Lagrangian method for simulating fish-like swimming.
