The Ally network has been introduced to Monash to support social inclusion on our campuses.

It promotes Monash as a safe space for individuals who might be straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* or intersex (LGBTI) to talk openly about sexuality and gender identity without the threat of judgement, discrimination or prejudice.

Monash supports the Australian Human Rights Commission's Racism. It Stops with Me campaign.

We have pledged to undertake awareness-raising activities over the next three years in support of the campaign including facilitating Courageous Conversations about Race workshops for students and staff.

The Social Justice Unit hosts a number of key events through the year including:

  • Diversity and Inclusion Week which provides an opportunity to engage staff, students and visitors and celebrate Monash's commitment to social justice.

  • Vice-Chancellor's Social Inclusion Awards which acknowledge those who contribute to Monash University's commitment to providing an inclusive environment and culture that offers equitable access and support to students, staff and the wider Monash community.

Keep up to date on what's happening in the Social Justice space at Monash, in the media and in the broader community.
