Social Sport Registration

Competitions will run from August 3, with finals commencing the week of October 26. No games will be played during the mid-semester break (21 - 25 September inclusive).

About our competitions

Social Sport competitions are suitable for all abilities. Our semester-based competitions are available at Caulfield and Clayton campuses.

For our semester-based competitions, registrations close at the start of each semester (subject to competition capacity), with competitions kicking off in week 2. For information on registration or weekly fees, head to our frequently asked questions page.

All timetables, competition dates and times are subject to change. The amount of game weeks and finals structure is determined by the number of teams in the competition.

Before you register

Please note competitions may reach capacity well before the registration close date. Order of entry into competitions will be based on the date of registration.

When selecting a competition, you agree that your team will be available to play at any time within the specified period as listed on the Social Sport timetable. Due to a large number of teams participating in our Social Sport competitions, we are unable to accommodate game time requests.

Please take care in selecting the competition ensuring the campus, day, sport and type (ie mixed, open, women's) are correct.

Social Sport is open to all current Monash University students and staff. Your team must be made up of at least 80% of players who are students currently enrolled at, or currently staff members of Monash University. Please note that the person completing the team registration is required to have a Monash University staff or student ID.

If your team does not meet the 80% requirement, you will need to complete our Expression of Interest Form. Community teams without staff or students are also required to submit this form.

Players playing on multiple teams

Players must be aware they cannot be registered to play in two different teams in the same competition on the same night. For example; You can be registered to play Mixed Basketball and Open Basketball. However you cannot play Open Basketball Division 1 and also be registered in an Open Basketball Division 2 team, or another Open Basketball Division 1 team as they are considered the same competition. Playing on multiple teams deemed the same competition may result in disqualification for finals.

New player registration

All players participating in our Social Sport competitions are now required to register themselves to their teams. Players must register using this link before they play their first game. Please note, that you will require a 'Team Code' in order to complete your registration. This code is sent in an email to the team captain after they have completed their team's registration.

How to Register a team

All team registrations are completed online. To complete your registration you will need:

A team name (offensive or inappropriate team names will not be accepted).

Captain and vice-captains' details, including phone numbers, email addresses and student/staff numbers if applicable.

All team members' details, including full name, email address and student/staff number if applicable.

Select the competition you wish to enter. When selecting a competition you are agreeing that your team will be available to play at any time within the specified period as listed on the social sport timetable. Due to a large number of teams participating in social sport competitions, we are unable to accommodate game time requests.

Make online registration payments using a credit or debit card.
