This Monash Honours degree goes beyond the technology that characterises the digital experience, to teach students excellence in design. Reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of multimedia projects in the real world, Monash honours students work within a creative community, comprising individuals from different areas of expertise.

Honours students are given the opportunity to investigate in depth an area of multimedia and digital arts specialisation of their own choice.

Entry requirements

Minimum entrance requirements

Successful completion of an Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in an art and design field. Applicants must attend an interview with a folio of their work and submit a detailed proposal outlining the aims, objectives and method of final presentation.

University entrance requirements

Minimum entrance requirements for admission to Monash University Australia.

Study areas


This course offers advanced studies in the practice of digital and interactive media, providing students with the opportunity to develop an area of specialisation of their own choice. Studies focus on research concepts, strategies, methods, and the skills to apply them in the field of new media arts and digital and interactive media.

The course involves advanced research studies and students must complete a major multimedia design project.
