Reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of multimedia projects in the real world, Monash honours students work within a creative community, comprising individuals from different areas of expertise.

Honours students are given the opportunity to investigate in depth an area of multimedia and digital arts specialisation of their own choice.

Entry requirements

Minimum entrance requirements

Successful completion of an Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in an art and design field. Applicants must attend an interview with a folio of their work and submit a detailed proposal outlining the aims, objectives and method of final presentation.

International entry requirements

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.

Study areas

DIGITAL AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA

This course offers advanced studies in the practice of digital and interactive media, providing students with the opportunity to develop an area of specialisation of their own choice. Studies focus on research concepts, strategies, methods, and the skills to apply them in the field of new media arts and digital and interactive media.

The course involves advanced research studies and students must complete a major multimedia design project.
