Course overview

This course supports students both in improving their clinical practice and knowledge related to the delivery of emergency health services, and their preparation for leadership positions. Participants explore their role and the role of their employer within the context of an integrated emergency medical system, considering the issues and trends that influence scope of practice and service delivery. A learning contract will be used to assist students to identify practice and knowledge gaps and to draw on their workplace experience to promote self-directed learning opportunities aimed at improving their clinical practice. The course consists of two core units: integrated emergency medical system and paramedic clinical practicum; and two electives chosen from other postgraduate units offered by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
