Application Process

Monash University welcomes teachers who want to teach an Enhancement Studies Unit. To be accepted, you must undergo training and/or qualifications check.

Future schools

The Monash University Enhancement Studies Program works with schools to develop and prepare high achieving students for University study.

What is expected of the host school?

Host Schools play an important role in the Enhancement Studies Program. The schools is provided with all the teaching materials and the teachers are well supported in their teaching role.

• Sign an agreement with the Enhancement Studies Program, view the sample agreement (pdf, 62 kb)
• May need to be available to meet Monash staff
• Promote program and centers running in area
• Ensure student applications are complete
• Provide a mentor for each student.

Things for schools to consider:

• Staff availability
• Contact with Monash Coordinators
• Approval by Monash Staff
• Venues/logistics/times- classes need to be held out side normal school hours
• Student numbers- a tutorial centre requires a minimum of 7 students to run
• Willingness to take students from other schools- all centers run at schools are expected to allow students from surrounding areas join in the Enhancement classes.

• Teachers are paid $79.15 per hour
• Admin costs can be claimed, up to $30 per student per semester for photocopying and administration related fees.
