About enrolment

If you're about to start a new course at Monash, you must enrol in person. Enrolment and orientation are compulsory for both new students and continuing students commencing a new course.

On enrolment day you can:

  • meet faculty course advisers
  • discuss unit selection and course structure
  • ask any questions you have about your studies.

Before enrolment day

Authority to enrol

Once you have accepted and paid for your offer, International Recruitment Services (IRS) will email you an official Authority to Enrol. You will receive this email about two to three weeks before your enrolment day on campus.

Enrolment tasks online

The Authority to Enrol lists enrolment tasks that you need to complete before attending enrolment day. This includes setting up your Monash computer account, updating your personal details and completing the enrolment questionnaire.

You can also check your course requirements and unit options in Step 4 using the Handbook.

On your enrolment day

On enrolment day, go to your faculty on the date, time and location of your scheduled enrolment.

Faculty course advisers will assist you to enter the units you will study.

See how to enrol – international students in Australia (Steps 4-6).

The last step is to get your student ID card in person.

Monash does not accept early or online enrolments for international students. You must attend in person and cannot send someone else to enrol on your behalf.

What to bring

Please bring:

  • a printed copy of your Authority to Enrol
  • your passport
  • visa details
  • a pen and paper.

Enrolment dates

Each course has its own enrolment date, time and location. You must refer to the 'enrolment flyer' for the date specific to your course.

Students who are progressing from Monash College to Monash University will have a different enrolment date. You must refer to the Monash College outtake enrolment flyer for the date specific to your course.
