Connect to eduroam wi-fi: Windows 8 and 10

There are two ways to connect to eduroam on Windows 8:

  1. the Start Screen
  2. the Desktop

Connecting from the start screen

  1. On the Start screen, hover the mouse icon on the top right or bottom right of the screen.
  2. The charms sidebar will appear. Select the cog icon to bring up Settings.

  3. In Settings, click on the Wireless icon to show the list of networks available.

  4. The list of networks available to you will appear in the sidebar. Make sure that Wifi is switched on. If it is not, toggle the switch to the right.
  5. Select eduroam and tick the Connect automatically checkbox if you want the Windows 8 device to connect automatically in future.

  6. Click the Connect button
  7. Enter your Monash email address as your username 

    Then add your Monash password and click OK.

  8. A security prompt will appear, click Connect to complete the connection to eduroam.

  9. Once connected, eduroam will appear as Connected in the list of networks.

Connecting from the desktop.

  1. From the Start screen, click Desktop.
  2. In the Desktop, click on the wireless icon to show the list of networks available.

  3. Select eduroam from the list of networks displayed.

  4. Enter your Monash email address as your username, then your password and click OK.

  5. A security prompt will appear, click Connect to complete the connection to eduroam.

  6. Once connected, eduroam will appear as Connected in the list of networks.
