Setting up speed dial on a desk phone

How to create speed dial shortcuts of your commonly called numbers depends on which model of desk phone you actually have.

The standard desk phone is the Cisco IP Phone 7945 with two round buttons to the right side of the screen. One of these is used by your incoming line, leaving one other that can be allocated to a speed dial.

The enhanced desk phone is the Cisco IP Phone 7965 with six round buttons to the right side of the screen, with five available to be programmed as speed dial numbers.

The enhanced Cisco IP Phone 7965 can also be ordered with the 7916 expansion module, which appears as an attached unit to the right side of the phone. The expansion module allows another 24 numbers to be stored as speed dial.

Go to the configuration page to create speed dial numbers for your phone.

Remember: when using your speed dial to press the desired shortcut key before picking up the receiver.
